Unique Holiday Experiences in South Africa

Although we believe Mazeppa Bay to be the most beautiful holiday location in South Africa, there are, believe it or not still a couple of other gems to be discovered. Travel to these wonderful South African locations and find unique accommodation you will never forget. For most of our guests inquiring about travelling to the Mother City, home of Table Mountain, we most often recommend Ashanti Lodge Cape Town backpackers due to it’s outstanding reputation and being one of the most trusted hostels in Cape Town with a history spanning more than 20 years.

Fairview Towers

It took eighteen months to renovate two old silos, that used to store cattle feed, into a four-storey holiday dwelling.  The Towers can accommodate up to eight people, consisting of two master bedrooms on the first floor with queen size beds and the children sleep in the two ground floor bedrooms. The third floor contains the open plan kitchen and the main living space. On the top floor you have the open Lapa area where you are free to braai and can enjoy the amazing farmland scenery. There is a wooden staircase which allows you access to all of the four floors. The furniture and interior decoration gives the rooms a country atmosphere. The Towers are located on the Fairview Estates Farm in Fouriesburg. Fairview Estates also offer alternative accommodation with their converted park home and beautiful cottage. If you are the energetic type you can explore the nearby Maluto Mountains.

Mashovhela Bush Lodge

This Lodge offers Venda-style chalets, but it is far more exciting to sleep outside in one of the exclusive hammocks attached to the trees. At this “Hammock Camp”, as it is referred, you are able to stargaze with a telescope, and the star-guide explains the heavenly bodies that you can see and also gives the guests a local story of their Venda culture. It is recommended that you visit the Mashovhela rock pool with its amazing waterfall. If you are a butterfly and bird lover this is the place to be as they boast of over 300 different species.
